New Governor Resources

📢🏛️ We've published some new resources for governing bodies about data protection and cyber security.  Governors can be added to our Knowledge Bank platform as part of your subscription with us at no extra charge.

Governors and data Best Practice Area

This has been updated to include more up to date information and links to articles and training.  There is a governor's section in the school's best practice area which relates to governing bodies for schools and multi academy trusts.

Governors: Data Protection and Cyber Security Training Course

There is a short training course under courses for governors which includes everything they need to know about their responsibilities for data protection and cyber security as part of their role on the governing body.  If they require specific data protection training, this can be assigned from the training courses too.

DfE Digital Standards

These standards should be used as guidelines to support your school or college use the right digital infrastructure and technology. More digital and technology categories will be added to the service. Meeting them can help you make more informed decisions about technology leading to safer, more cost-efficient practices and new learning opportunities for students.

Governors should complete the trackers with their Data Protection Lead.

 

Cyber Governance Code of Practice
The Cyber Governance Code of Practice (the Code) has been created to support boards and directors in governing cyber security risks. The Code sets out the most critical governance actions that directors are responsible for. The Code forms part of the government’s free package of support on cyber governance and should be the first point of reference for board members.

Governors should complete the tracker with their Data Protection Lead.
