Are teachers using AI? 83% say its a time-saver

🤖🕒 Most meetings we are having with schools at the moment feature conversations and questions around the use of AI by staff in  organisations.  It's clear the landscape is rapidly evolving and education may not be moving as fast, however, it does help to be prepared.
Twinkl, the highly popular educational publisher, recently published the results of its survey of teachers using AI.

The survey highlights:
 📈  60% of teachers using AI for work purposes
 📈  Frequent users (66%) think AI will make a positive contribution to children’s education
 📈  76% yet to receive any training or substantial guidance from their school
 📈  58% of educators agree with the Government’s vision of AI improving education

Most educators are making use of the technology either weekly (44%) or daily (23%). These frequent users are saving significant amounts of time each week - with 24% claiming to save up to an hour, 64% between 1-5 hours, and 9% over 5 hours.

Understand what systems are using AI

Our advice is be aware of what systems you are using that previously didn't use AI but now do:
 🤖 Ensure you read release and update notices to check if AI is coming in the next release.
 🤖 Speak to the systems supplier if you aren't sure.

 🤖 Have best practice governance standards by having an AI policy.  Be specific about what AI and how AI is used in your organisation.

 🤖 Be as transparent as you can by letting parents, staff and pupils know how you are using AI.
 🤖 Stay informed and keep up to date.
