Terms and Conditions for Data Protection Education Ltd's (DPE) MAT Conference

By registering for and attending the DPE MAT Conference (hereafter "the Conference"), you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions.

1. Registration and Payment
  • Registration Confirmation: Your registration is complete and confirmed upon receipt of full payment. A confirmation email will be sent to the email address provided during registration.
  • Payment: All conference fees must be paid in GBP within 60 days of booking. We accept credit card (via PayPal on the booking form) or bank transfer when booking offline.
  • Early Bird/Discounted Rates: Eligibility for early bird or discounted rates is subject to strict deadlines. Payments received after the specified deadline will be charged at the full conference rate.
  • Inclusions: Your registration fee includes: access to all sessions, lunch, refreshments and conference materials.
  • Exclusions: Your registration fee does not include:  travel, accommodation, additional meals, or any other expenses you have related to the event.
2. Cancellations and Refunds

Delegate Cancellation:
  • Cancellations received in writing 90 days or more prior to the Conference date will be eligible for a full refund, less an administration fee of £50 .
  • Cancellations received within 90 days of the Conference date are non-refundable.
  • No-shows are non-refundable.
  • Substitutions: Delegate substitutions are permitted at no additional cost. All substitution requests must be made in writing to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. at least 7 days prior to the Conference, providing the full name, job title, and contact details of the substitute delegate.
  • Conference Cancellation/Postponement: In the unlikely event that the Conference is cancelled or postponed due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., natural disaster, venue unavailability, low attendance), Data Protection Education will endeavour to provide as much notice as possible.
  • If the Conference is cancelled, registered delegates will receive a full refund of their registration fee.
  • If the Conference is postponed, delegates will have the option to transfer their registration to the new date or receive a full refund.
  • Data Protection Education shall not be liable for any additional costs incurred by delegates (e.g., travel, accommodation) as a result of cancellation or postponement.
3. Conference Content and Programme
  • Programme Changes: While every effort will be made to adhere to the advertised programme, Data Protection Education Ltd reserves the right to make changes to the speakers, topics, agenda, or venue at any time without prior notice.
  • Speaker Views: The views and opinions expressed by speakers and attendees at the Conference are their own and do not necessarily reflect the views or opinions of Data Protection Education Ltd.
  • Intellectual Property: All content, presentations, and materials provided at the Conference, whether in hard copy or digital format, are the intellectual property of the respective speakers or Data Protection Education Ltd and are protected by copyright. Reproduction, distribution, or transmission of these materials without explicit permission is prohibited.
4. Data Protection and Privacy
  • Data Collection: By registering, you agree that Data Protection Education Ltd may collect and process your personal data (e.g., name, email, organisation) for the purpose of administering your registration, communicating about the Conference, and providing relevant information.
  • Marketing Communications: We may use your contact details to send you information about future events, products, or services. You can opt-out of these communications at any time.
  • Sharing Data: We will not share your personal data with third parties unless required by law or with your explicit consent (e.g., if you opt-in to receive information from a sponsor).

5. Photography, Audio, and Video Recording
  • By attending the Conference, you acknowledge that photography may take place by Data Protection Education Ltd or its authorised representatives for promotional, marketing, or archival purposes. 
  • Use of Likeness: You grant Data Protection Education Ltd the right to use your image, likeness, and voice in photographs, video recordings, or audio recordings taken at the Conference without compensation. If you object to this, please let staff known at event registration on the day.
  • Restrictions: Attendees are generally prohibited from making their own audio or video recordings of sessions without prior written permission from Data Protection Education Ltd. Photography for personal, non-commercial use is usually permitted, but please be respectful of speakers and other attendees.
6. Conduct at the Conference
  • Respectful Environment: All attendees are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner. Harassment, discrimination, or any form of disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.
  • Right to Refuse Entry/Remove: Data Protection Education Ltd reserves the right to refuse admission to, or remove from the Conference, any individual who it deems to be behaving inappropriately or whose presence is disruptive to the smooth running of the event. No refund will be issued in such cases.
  • Health and Safety: Attendees must adhere to all health and safety regulations and instructions provided by the venue and Conference organisers.
7. Liability
  • Personal Belongings: Attendees are responsible for their own personal belongings. Data Protection Education Ltd accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property brought to the Conference.
  • Disclaimer: Data Protection Education Ltd shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by attendees, however caused, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law (e.g., death or personal injury caused by negligence).
  • Maximum Liability: In any event, the maximum liability of Data Protection Education Ltd for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Conference shall be limited to the amount of the delegate's registration fee.
8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
  • These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
  • Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
9. Amendments to Terms and Conditions
  • Data Protection Education Ltd reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on the Conference website and will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued attendance at the Conference constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms and Conditions.
